Dormer Specialised Soil Samplers
Overview
The Dormer Split Core Sampler has been designed for taking undisturbed samples in firm soils. Available in both 50mm and 60mm diameters, the 350mm long stainless steel core sampler can be split into two longitudinal halves with threaded retainers on both ends. It is driven into the soil using a Dormer Slide Hammer where the tapered cutting tip effortlessly cuts through the soil profile. Once the sample is taken, the end retainers are unscrewed using the C-spanners supplied and the tube halves are easily parted exposing the core sample.

Dormer Piston Sampler
The Dormer Piston Sampler was designed for taking a sample either Inside an augered hole or from the bed of a body of water. This type of Piston Sampler has 2 main variations. The standard version has the piston rod offset to allow both it and the extension rod connection to fit within the diameter of the sample tube. The other version has the piston rod in the centre and the extension rod connection is positioned partly protruding out from the side of the sample tube. The standard version has the sampler length at 1.0m or 1.5m overall and the sample length is approx 130mm shorter (to allow for piston).

Undisturbed Wet Soil Sampler
This sampler is for obtaining undisturbed samples in water-saturated sediment. It retains the sample inside a removable soft clear plastic tube using a plastic sample retainer.
Split Core Sampler
The Split-Core sampler is for taking undisturbed samples in normal soils. The stainless steel tube is split into two longitudinal halves and is driven into the soil using a Slide Hammer. The end retainers are unscrewed and the tube halves are easily parted exposing the undisturbed sample.”
