Van Dorn Sampler

Intended for shallow or deep waters, Van Dorn samplers are called “horizontal” because they descend, parallel to the bottom. The sampler is pulled sideways before the messenger is released to close the sampler, ensuring a representative water sample from that depth. They are ideal for sampling various stratification levels, the thermocline or just above the bottom sediments.

Both popular and versatile, these bottles come in your choice of transparent acrylic or opaque PVC - we usually supply acrylic, as it allows the sampler to view the bottle contents immediately.

Beta Samplers are recommended, as there are no metal parts to touch the sample, and so can be used for trace metal sampling.
